I'm ba-ack!

HI,

I've just got back from a 2 week sojourn to the FSM islands of Kosrae, Chuuk and Yap. Stopped in to Guam as well. It was a work trip but surprisingly pleasant!

I've just got to get through the 40,000 emails in my inbox and do some reports, then I'll get back to posting indulgent photos of myself very soon.

pps. I went scuba diving with giant Manta rays on Yap!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!

Coconuts

I've posted pictures of coconuts sprouting previously, but here is another stage in the life cycle of the coolest nut around. Some of these little bumps turn into coconuts! yum.

Waterfall hike

A few weeks ago we hiked to a waterfall in Madolenheimw. It has a name, but it is lost in the depths of my memory. It is one of many which occur as the rivers from the mountainous interior of Pohnpei (remember, one of the wettest places on earth, about 10,000mm of rain a year!) reach the coastal plains.

A hot and sticky walk, but beautifully refreshed by a swim in the cool waterfall pool. It started pouring with rain as we were leaving too, which was very pleasant.

Lobsters!

Yum yum. Lobsters are sold around the time of the full moon. These babies are huge, and cost $7 for both. Sigh. Drool. Yum.

Quite pretty really. I am not sure what the different colours mean.

A magnificent meal was enjoyed thanks to our crustacean buddies.

A very nahs Movie Nahs

A couple of our friends have a home entertainment setup to be envied anywhere in the world. Their nahs is transformed into a den of cinematic pleasures, with a projection screen, comfy cushions, and a hammock reserved just for me (until I get up and the 3 second rule is applied).

3 metre widescreen for your viewing pleasure.

Comfy cushions, hammocks and a lovely breeze just next to the river. Beat that, Hoyts Crapiplex.
